Zwelitsha, Eastern Cape – The spirit of collaboration and community empowerment was alive at Zone 1 Community Hall in Zwelitsha as the Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) in the Buffalo City Metro partnered with Bumb’Ingomso to host a G20 Thought Leadership Dialogue. The event aimed to foster resilient leadership and promote inclusive economic participation among community members.

The dialogue brought together a range of stakeholders, including young leaders, local entrepreneurs, and development organisations, to share insights and practical strategies on seizing economic development opportunities and building safer communities.
One of the highlights of the event was a motivational address by established businesswoman Ms Zimkita Bangani, owner of Javabean Cafe. Drawing from her own entrepreneurial journey, Ms Bangani encouraged aspiring business owners to be proactive and open to new opportunities.
“Success doesn’t come by waiting. You have to actively look for the gap and be bold enough to take it,” she said, inspiring many in the audience to pursue their ambitions with confidence.

The event received support from various organisations and community stakeholders, including Sanlam, the Ngwekazi Foundation, Javabean Cafe, the National Prosecuting Authority, the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality, and the Electoral Commission. Their collective involvement emphasized a shared commitment to nurturing young leaders and fostering economic resilience in Zwelitsha.
Local youth formations also played a vital role in the day’s proceedings, while Zwelitsha Digital TV provided community media coverage, ensuring the dialogue reached a wider audience.
The initiative not only shed light on the G20’s economic development priorities but also reaffirmed the importance of community-driven leadership and local empowerment in shaping sustainable futures.
