In a heartfelt evening filled with inspiration, music, and purpose, King of Glory Foundation hosted a prestigious fundraising gala dinner on Saturday night in Abbotsford, East London. The event aimed to raise funds for the organization’s upcoming youth soccer tournament — a key initiative to uplift young people and give them a path out of adversity through sport.
Now in its fifth year of operation, King of Glory has remained committed to its core mission: to take young people off the streets and support those with talent in sport to realize their dreams. “A lot of young people are depressed and going through a lot. It has always been my dream to help them,” said Sibusiso Nodada, Chairman of King of Glory Foundation, during his opening remarks.
The evening featured an impressive lineup of motivational speakers and honored guests, including the MEC for Sports and Recreation, Sibulele Nongogo, who applauded the organization’s efforts and urged the community to continue supporting youth-centered initiatives.
Also delivering powerful messages were Mr Allan Williams from SSCN, Mr. Mlindelwa Man-B Tyekana Local Business Man , and Mr Sibabalo Feni from the University of Fort Hare, who collectively encouraged parents to recognize and nurture the sporting interests of their children.
Adding star power to the event, some players from the Kaizer Chiefs were in attendance, bringing excitement and encouragement to the young audience. Youth icons Mr Sive Nontshinga, a boxing champion, and Miss Asante Tofi, a beauty queen, also delivered motivational speeches, urging their peers to stay focused, pursue their dreams, and never lose hope.
The gala served not only as a fundraiser but also as a powerful reminder of the impact of community and collective action in shaping the future of South Africa’s youth.
