Uphando lubonisa ukuba ukuhlala usempilweni kungawanciphisa amathuba okufumana esi sifo.
Kutsha nje iqonga elijongene nezoqoqosho kwihlabathi (World Economic Forum) lityale imali engange zigidi ezingama khulu asixhenxe eedola ($700 million) ukuphuhlisa ichiza elizakunceda ekulweni nesi sifo. Abaphandi bafumanisa ukuba abona bantu basemngciphekweni ngabo banomlibo wofuzo ngokwesi sifo, kungako kufuneka ibengabo abanikwa ingqwalasela kakhulu. I-WHO iqhuba ithi kubantu abadala ngokweminyaka lo ngoyena nobangela uphambili wokubhubha kwabo amaxesha amaninzi. Nanjengoko inani labantu abasele bekhulile lisanda kwihlabathi kumazwe ngamazwe kulindeleke ukuba ngonyaka ka2050 esi sifo sichaphazele abantu aba zizigidi ezilikhulu elinamshumi mathathu anesithoba (139 Million).
